Market studies and the Filipino middle class
Is there such a thing as the Filipino middle class?
It is very suprising that market studies that segment the Filipino population to their spending power is very difficult to find. Maybe they're just for sale but even so, I don't see any ads in the main broadsheets.
I always think of the typical Filipino buying population as the few rich and the massive poor- nobody in between. This is why I am surprised to hear that a poor public school student will get around 30 Pesos as her baon for a day. This piece of information makes so much difference for businessmen!
I really hope that there will be a firm who will sell this kinds of market segmentation information for a reasonable fee.
